TORONTO – A five-year-old boy from Massachusetts with a rare chemotherapy-resistant cancer had one request for his birthday: a box of cards with his name on it.
Last October, Danny Nickerson was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Since then, the young boy has received 33 radiations and is receiving chemotherapy every two weeks.

Earlier this month, Danny’s mother Carley asked friends and family on 苏州美甲美睫培训论坛 if they would be willing to send her son a birthday card for his sixth birthday on July 25, as her son has stopped attending kindergarten and gets lonely from time to time.
“He loves receiving mail and he’s always checking the mail box for mail with his name on it,” she wrote. “How many birthday cards can we get before his birthday?”

Carley said that she and her family didn’t expect to receive hundreds of well-wishes and gifts from strangers around the world.
“We are so shocked,” she wrote in a post on July 19. “We are so lucky and blessed to have all of you on this journey with us! Thank you so much for all the love, support and prayers.”
As of Tuesday, Danny received over 2,000 cards and more than 200 packages.
Carley said that despite doctors telling her that less than 10 per cent of children diagnosed with this type of cancer live longer than 18 months, she’s optimistic.
“I don’t really believe in that. He is doing great,” she said. “Every day is a blessing for us.”
The family has provided the following mailing addresses for those wishing to send Danny a card:
P.O. Box 212
Foxboro, MA, 02035.
